US Institution: Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum
Project Description: To explore the impact of the current generation of Chinese architects on China and present their work

Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, will host "China Constructs: New Visions of Domestic Architecture" in New York from October 18, 2008, to March 9, 2009. The exhibit will feature specially commissioned installations by nine Chinese architects, whose work explores themes such as sustainability, urban density, preservation, and private and public spheres within the context of housing in China.

Cooper-Hewitt is seeking corporate sponsorship of this exhibit. Sponsors will receive recognition on Cooper-Hewitt's website, print publications, and/or signage. Cooper-Hewitt is the only museum in the nation devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Exhibits such as "China Constructs" help to promote cross-cultural understanding and enhance US-China relations.

Project Description: To produce and display a large 8-shaped sculpture in time for the August 8 Olympic Games

Jon Hair, an official sculptor of both the US Olympic Team and the US Olympic Committee, has been invited by the PRC government to create a 24-foot sculpture entitled "8" for the Beijing International Sculpture Park. In Chinese culture, the number "8" is considered lucky.

The sculpture must be in place by August 8, 2008, when the Beijing Olympic Games are scheduled to begin. Corporate and private sponsors for the $150,000 project have the opportunity to create good will and have a permanent presence in Beijing.
