View from the Field: An Outlook on China’s Economy in 2014

A slowing economy in China, mixed economic indicators, and continued questions about the scope and pace of possible economic reforms have left many companies with questions about what to expect for their China operations heading into 2014. As we enter the year of the horse, how should companies understand and navigate new competitive realities and position themselves to take advantage of new opportunities?

Please join us for a roundtable discussion with Dr. Yifan Hu, chief economist and head of research for Haitong International, a leading Hong Kong-based Chinese investment bank. Dr. Hu will discuss the current state of the Chinese economy, key economic priorities for the China’s leadership, and expectations for the Chinese economy in 2014.

Hu oversees a team of analysts providing macroeconomic and equity analysis for greater China and has written and been interviewed regularly for leading financial media including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, Finance, CNBC, CCTV, and Phoenix TV. Prior to joining Haitong International, she was chief economist for CITIC Securities in Hong Kong, head of Asian economics for Natixis in Paris, and vice president and strategist for Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong.
