Although a private measure of China’s factory activity jumped last month to its highest level since 2011, the Chinese economy is still dealing with the fallout from COVID-19. This is at least in part due to depressed global demand, curtailing the abilities of export-oriented Chinese businesses to regain their footing. To get an update on the government’s response and more, this week we’re on the line with our director in Beijing, Lipei Zhang.
